So I've made this goal of not eating out for lunch at work anymore and I am proud to say that I made some substantial savings last month! Woo! Welcome to the month of February, did you end up sticking with your New Years resolution? (Note that I never made it a resolution, it was just something I came up with when I came back from Europe, ha!) Anyway, today I have another mini from Rainbow Honey that they sent in a surprise Best of 2013 package to me.
This is The Changeling Queen, which was one of the three limited edition polishes that they produced for BronyCon. I remember that this set was a HUGE hit, and I recall them selling out in the evening when I first placed my order. It's a shimmer and glitter topper comprised of lime and kelly green hued multi-sized square glitter, teal hexes, and large black circle dots. The shimmer is a bit on the blue side. It applied evenly despite how packed the formula is with glitter - it seems like Rainbow Honey has really got that down. Here's one coat of the Changling Queen over top of Rainbow Honey Tenda, a kelly green creme:
I this the namesake of this polish "Changeling Queen" kind of reminds me of something that is a bit of a chameleon and can change looks depending on instance. This glitter topper would look substantially different over a darker colour (and now I wish I had swatched it over a dark colour as well) because the shimmer is so prominent. You can also check out my NPBFF's swatch over at Addicted to Lacquer. At first I didn't know what to think of this polish because it was so strange - I hadn't ever seen a mix like this. It looks incredible in the bottle - but it eventually grew on me. I love that Rainbow Honey always takes risks and pushes for innovative mixes and absolutely, this is one of them. It might not be for everyone because it's so different but I do enjoy it over this kelly green and dark colours as well.
Anyway, have you seen that funny reaction video with the Irish dad and his 'failing' his drivers? I dunno, it's funny and I can't get over it. Check it out. What colours are you rocking today? Is it too early for green for you? Oh shit Valentines Day is coming up - what are your plans?
